English/Spanish Bilingual Components Buyer - AM8151

Job description: 
Components Buyer will focus on commercial matters, efficiency, and cost reduction negotiations. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, driven, and able to assume the lead in learning processes and systems, meeting with suppliers, and proactively seeking cost reductions. Buyer will support all functions of the purchasing department as determined by management.
Responsibilities: 
• Prepare request for quotation (RFQ) to raw material suppliers; manage price entry files for assigned parts
• Negotiate yearly cost reductions with assigned vendors; review VA/VE cost-saving ideas and coordinate with DE, QA, and other related departments as needed
• NCL (new component list review traceability) daily review of RFQ needed parts for system registration; enter pricing in IPS and/or BPCS
• Review monthly supplier scorecards and coordinate QCD reviews with pertinent suppliers as needed
• Analyze price comparisons, logistics routes, MOQ, etc.; maintain procurement records, parts, tooling, and purchased services
• Understand OEM and internal customer requirements, and source business based on supplier-based resources
• Liaison OEM program responsibilities (create, coordinate, track, and communicate), monthly design changes, and new components meetings by OEM/platform within our company DE, MC, Quality, and other sections as needed to ensure on-time production and systems
• Review supplier-based financial information (D&B) on monthly basis
• Maintain and track invoice control to ensure on-time payments to vendors

Qualification requirements: 
• Bachelor’s Degree required, Business Administration or related field preferred
• 1-3 years background with purchasing or planning
• English/Spanish proficiency, including reading and writing; Japanese a plus
• Working knowledge of computers and major software packages, including Microsoft Office and strong Excel skills
• Able to work in a team environment
• Regular travel required
